Active transport

Why?

Active transport uses energy to move particles into or out of a cell against the concentration gradient.

A root hair cell uses energy to pump scarce minerals in from the soil, like pushing balls up a slope into a crowded box.

Press the button to pump minerals into a root cell against the gradient.
