The nucleus: the control centre

Why?

The nucleus holds the cell's instructions and controls what the cell does.

Messages fly out of the nucleus like paper aeroplanes from a control tower to different parts of the cell, which light up and start working.

Press the button to watch the nucleus send out messages, then see what happens without it.

Drag the picture to look around.

When the nucleus is removed from an amoeba, it slowly stops moving and feeding, like a factory with no manager.
