Control of the cell cycle

Why?

Checkpoints stop the cell cycle if DNA is damaged or the cell is not ready, and cyclin proteins drive it forward.

A traffic light at each checkpoint turns red when a DNA break is found and green again once it is repaired.

Press the button to move a cell through the checkpoints of its cycle.

Drag the picture to look around.

Cyclin levels rise and fall like a wave on a graph, each peak pushing the cell into the next stage.
