The cytoskeleton

Why?

The cytoskeleton is a network of protein fibres that gives a cell its shape, moves things around inside it and helps it move.

A motor protein walks along a microtubule track like a tiny person carrying a parcel across the cell.

Press the button to watch a motor protein deliver a parcel and a white blood cell crawl.

Drag the picture to look around.

A white blood cell crawls towards bacteria by building fibres at its front edge and pulling its back along.
